Abstract

A new record for the Uruguayan flora, Piper gaudichaudianum Kunth (Piperaceae) is presented. The species was found and collected in northeastern Uruguay, associated to wet forest. Description, illustrations, geographical distribution data, herbarium references, and conservation status are added.
