Abstract

The mealbugs fauna in Uruguay was surveyed using systematic sampling on several vegetable, fruit and ornamental crops. Nine of the species recorded were already known; through the present study the number of known species was raised to 16, among the Dysmicoccus brevipes (Cockerell), Dysmicoccus sp., Planococcus minor (Maskell), Phenacoccus parvus Morrison, Pseudococcus affinis (Maskell), Pseudococcus sp. aff. elisae and Pseudococcus sp. aff. sociabilis. A brief review of main species and a list of host plants on which these were found is also given
