Stress in the modern world it’s hard to avoid it. To live in a city implies to face stressful surroundings whereas the individuals performed quotidian activities: crowds, pollution, noise, crime and traffic jams. All of that can make it hard to relax. Rural tourism can be considered as a way to find a more quiet life, with moments of leisure when a person from the urban area is in direct contact with nature and rural culture (including rural people). In this sense, rural tourism is understood as an alternative to improve quality of life. The objective of this study was to analyze 23 web sites of rural tourism establishments located in the State of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. As a result of the study it was possible to identify that promotion of quality of life is related to three elements: i) interaction with nature, ii) interaction with local culture (habits, costumes), and iii) synergy of city technology and rural home warmness.
