Agrociencia Uruguay is an open-access journal that publishes two volumes each year with unpublished articles, reviews (by invitation only) and technical papers, on agricultural sciences, plant and microbial biotechnology, plant production, plant protection, natural and environmental resources, animal production and pastures, social sciences, rural sociology and agricultural economics, and food technology. At the very least, the works are assessed by two reviewers external to the editorial committee.
Agrociencia Uruguay is published since 1997 at a rate of one volume per year, and two volumes each year since 2002. Since 2020 it keeps its two volumes each year but on a continuous publication basis.
Since 2007, the journal is published in a joint work between the Agronomy School of the University of the Republic (udelar), and the National Livestock and Agriculture Research Institute.
The abbreviation of the journal's title is “Agrociencia Uruguay”, and it must be used in bibliographies, footnotes, captions and bibliographic references.
