Agrociencia Uruguay, open access Journal, publishes two volumes per year with unpublished articles, reviews (by invitation) and technical notes in Agricultural sciences, Plant and microbial biotechnology, Plant production, Plant protection, Natural and environmental resources, Animal production and pastures, Social Sciences, Rural Sociology and Agricultural Economics and Food Technology. The articles are evaluated by two reviewers outside the editorial committee.

Agrociencia Uruguay was edited from 1997 to 2002 at a rate of one volume per year, and since then at two volumes per year. As of 2007, the journal is published jointly by the Facultad de Agronomía (FAgro) of the Universidad de la República (Udelar) and the Instituto Nacional de Investigacion Agropecuaria (INIA)

The journal is available in ScIELO and is indexed in CABi, DOAJ, Latindex, and Emerging Sources Citation Index, from the Web of Science (Thompson-Reuters)

The abbreviation of its title is "Agrociencia Uruguay", and should be used in bibliographies; footnotes, captions and bibliographical references.
